Club Rules

Skaters, parents and coaches who register with the BFSC do so knowing and accepting the Club's rules. The following are rules that must be obeyed at all times.  They will be enforced by all coaches and the club executives.

Be alert for other skaters at all times. Skaters who do not watch where they are going and are posing a danger to others will receive only one warning by any coach or executive member before being asked to leave the ice for the remainder of the session.  This will be enforced even if a skater is in a lesson.

Skaters who are running through their programs shall have right of way during sessions.

Spins should be practiced in the middle of the ice, not in the corners.

Kicking the ice will not be tolerated. Skaters will receive only one warning by any coach or executive member before being asked to leave the ice for the remainder of the session.

Skaters are reminded that games such as tag or follow the leader can be dangerous and are not permitted

No tests will be allowed and competition forms will not be signed if there are any outstanding financial amounts due to the club or to a coach.

Skaters are expected to wear proper attire to skating sessions. No jeans, baggy pants or shorts. Skaters with long hair should have it tied back.   No gum or food on the ice!

Skaters may only be on the ice for the session they have paid for, i.e. a skater registered on the Wed intermediate session may only skate from 4:55-5:50.  If you arrived late to your session, you cannot "make up" the time by staying on later.
Exception: Skaters who are in a lesson may stay on the ice an extra 5 minutes to finish their lesson.

Skaters and coaches are asked to clear the ice promptly at the end of each session so that we can keep to our schedule. Once the bell rings, skaters may NOT continue to do jumps or spins. The Zamboni is not permitted to start movement onto the ice surface until all skaters and coaches are off.
